THEATRE CLUBS

The drama program strengthens students' concentration on imagination, and serves the process of self-expression and creative cooperation. In the introductory lessons of the drama program, activities include physical and silent exercises, improvisation, storytelling and basic stage training.

Having taken basic drama training and entered the upper age group, Şahinkaya students now make a transition to theatre history, text interpretation and stage performance. Students who want to make drama and theater a part of their lives and specialise in it, aim to revitalise great works in master groups they work with drama instructors and even create and stage their own works. Besides the drama programs, the art programs in Şahinkaya have different performance contents according to different age groups. While children in small age groups apply what they have learned with their parents during "Hand in Hand" activities, children who have already been involved in theatre stage showcase their talents during arts days, and clubs full of new talents take to the stage during theatre festivals.

THEATRE FIRST STEP

Kids, you have grown taller not only in life but also on stage. Are you ready to leave behind the mini animations on the art days and take to the stage with us? On the stage, we will have things to say to grown-ups as well as to our peers. We will put those words into a script together. If you want to know what theatre is, want to spend an after-school evening with your friends playing games, having fun and developing, don't miss this opportunity.

Age Groups: 4th Grade Students

NB: It will be carried out with voluntary students outside of school hours.

FANTASTIC THEATRE COMMUNITY

We dreamed of an impossible world, where we could take on impossible roles. We create an adventure of children, improvise it and put it on stage. Who knows what the atmosphere we have created will be like once you are in it? You must be a part of this play that we will prepare for the World Theatre Day.

Age Groups: 5th Grade Students

NB: It is an elective club program.

IMPROVISATION THEATRE COMMUNITY

We are playing games, improvising, having fun. We will experience the free world of arts, live with theatre, and have the opportunity to exhibit small performances with the group decision. We will do theatre sometimes on our school's stage, sometime in the school corridors and sometimes in the most unthinkable corner of Bursa.

Age Groups: 5th Grade Students

NB: It is an elective club program.

TRADITIONAL TURKISH THEATRE

We learn what the traditional Turkish theatre is and we stage types and stock characters of it. These stock characters will take place in a different story each year. Who knows which aspect of being a child they will deal with this year? We will design this story together. We use wit a lot in this club, which is an indispensable element of the 'orta oyunu'(traditional improvised theatre) and we will test the boundaries of creativity and surprise the audience on the day.

Age Groups: 6th Grade Students

NB: It is an elective club program.

THEATRE MICKEY

We take the mickey out of life. We take the mickey out of all the cliché phrases of childhood, memorised behaviours, all adults and even ourselves. With the group decision, we will be able to share our work via alternative theatre types in school and on the streets.

Age Groups: 6th Grade Students

NB: It is an elective club program.

CLASSICAL THEATRE PLAYS

Up until now, we have been on the stage of Şahinkaya wearing the crucial costumes of the period, with laughter by Moliere, criticism by Gogol, and fun plays by Chekhov. The experience of staging these famous classical plays is an opportunity not to be missed for anyone interested in the art of theatre.

Age group: 7th Grade Students

NB: It is an elective club program.

THEATRE EVERYWHERE

Grab your art come to the streets. We will try to recognise, discuss and question our boundaries with our activities at this club. To demolish the boundaries of the stage will suit this club and we will be able to claim all the squares and stage small performances.

Age group: 7th Grade Students

NB: It is an elective club program.

DRAMA COMMUNITY

In this club which is process-oriented rather than result-oriented, you will contribute to your personal development by participating in independent workshops. With method drama, each workshop will present you with an opportunity to learn about a topic by experiencing and think in great detail. You will find yourself in a surprising creative reading activity.

Age Group: 9th Grade Students

NB: It is an elective club program.

CONTEMPORARY THEATRE COMMUNITY

In our newly-formed community, where activities on theatre, film and television acting will be carried out, we are staging plays by contemporary and recent playwrights.
